Oliver Stone tackles 9/11 with this week's World Trade Center, and though it's far from a definitive examination of that fateful day (and thus somewhat misleadingly titled), it's nonetheless a respectable portrait of courage, altruism and heroism.
World Trade Center (Slant magazine)
Those not interested in reliving the WTC attacks may want to check out Half Nelson (for its performances, at least) or House of Sand (for its atmosphere) - reviews of both can be found via the right sidebar's links. Otherwise, though, there's not much to recommend, as the following reviews make clear.
Already in Theaters:
The Night Listener (Slant magazine)
Friday:
The Trouble with Men and Women (Slant magazine)
Coming Soon:
Trust the Man (Slant magazine)
Accepted (Slant magazine)
And keep in mind that more reviews should be arriving later this week, including one of the not-screened-for-critics remake of Pulse that I'll be seeing on Friday.
